What are the best oils for Sciatica please?

This is a question I have been asked a few times recently.

What is Sciatica?

Sciatica is pain resulting from the irritation of the sciatic nerve. This nerve is the longest nerve in your body. It runs from the spinal cord through the buttock and hip area and down the back of each leg. When the sciatic nerve is pinched or irritated due to something such as herniated disk the pain shoots up and down this nerve. There are a few symptoms such as pain, numbness, tingling sensations or even loss or bowel/bladder control.

How do you get Sciatica?

This can happen to anyone at any time such as over-exercising, sleeping in an awkward position, sitting incorrectly at your computer screen, gardening, washing your car, reaching too far, wearing unsuitable footwear etc.

Supporting Oils

The oils that I have had good results with and would suggest using are:

Peppermint, Deep Blue oil or cream, Copaiba, Marjoram, Wintergreen and the fir oils.

Deep Blue Essential Oil Copaiba Essential oil

marjoram essential oil

The best way to use these oils are to add your carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil/grapeseed or any moisture cream into the palm of your hand and add 2 drops of any of the oils above and massage onto the area 3-4 times per day.
